Summer of Fundraising
2026 has been a busy and successful summer of fundraising events for the Greggs Foundation so far and we'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported our events over the past few months.
From the golf course to dragon boats battling it out on the water - colleagues, suppliers, partners and supporters have once again shown their generosity in helping us raise funds for the Greggs Foundation to support communities across the country.
North and South Charity Golf Day
On the 15th July our annual North Charity Golf Day was held at Close House Golf Club.
We were lucky to get some fantastic weather so alongside the golf, guests enjoyed the opportunity to enjoy lovely surroundings and a brilliant atmosphere from start to finish. The night before we had also held a casino night at Close House in recognition of the amazing 10 years of fundraising at our north charity golf day – raising a cumulative £120,000 in total over that time.
The South Charity Golf Day was also held once again at Forest Hills Golf Club In Gloucestershire in June and as always, was a highlight of the fundraising calendar for a competitive but fun day on the course. This one-day event raised over £12,000 for the Greggs Foundation.
Thank you to everyone who sponsored activities and prizes and came ready to play at our charity golf days. Your support makes a real difference to the communities we serve and of course, we hope to see you back on the course next year.
Dragon Boat Race
This summer we also held our 3rd annual Dragon Boat Race.
We had 120 paddlers this year swapping their day jobs for boats as they raced head-to-head on the water in what has become a very competitive event! We had so many supporters creating a great atmosphere and cheering crews across the finish line. Well done to the Merrychef One team who powered their way to victory. Bake it to the Finish came a very close second but just didn't quite manage to snatch the win.
In three years, this event has now raised an incredible £100,000 in total between the Greggs Foundation and our charity partners the Boparan Charitable Trust.
