Agents of Change reaches 700 Schools and 100,000 children milestone
The Greggs Foundation is celebrating a significant milestone in its partnership with Rethink Food, as the Agents of Change programme officially reaches 700 schools.
This milestone marks an important moment for Agents of Change, first introduced by Rethink Food to the Greggs Foundation school network in 2022. The programme provides free food education and resources to schools with the aim of developing lifelong skills around healthy eating, sustainable lifestyles, nutrition and physical wellbeing.
According to latest figures, the Agents of Change initiative now has well over 100,000 primary-age children benefiting from access to the fun and unique educational resources created by the Rethink Food team and its team of former educators.
The Greggs Foundation supported Rethink Food by providing funding to create a bespoke, independent educational programme to help children learn more about food, nutrition and healthy lifestyles, enabling schools to equip their pupils with knowledge and skills that will have a lasting impact beyond the classroom.
"The Agents of Change has now been running for four years in schools and its growth reflects the positive feedback we’ve had from teachers and pupils who have consistently enjoyed having access to such a high quality free resource. Reaching such a key milestone underlines the importance of giving schools access to this independent resource and we are now excited to be establishing new ways for the Agents of Change to reach even more schools so they can take advantage of free resources when it comes to food education for pupils.”Tracy Lynch, Greggs Foundation Manager
As children return to school to begin the new academic year, this milestone provides an opportunity to celebrate the positive impact of the Agents of Change while looking ahead to the next phase. Rethink Food will be opening up the Agents of Change as a free-to-access resource for all schools from 2027.
"Seven hundred schools is more than a milestone. It represents thousands of children being given the chance to think differently about food, their health, and the planet. Agents of Change has reached this point because of our incredible partnership with the Greggs Foundation and the commitment of the teachers who bring it to life. Together, we’re helping children see that they can make a difference in their schools and communities."Kevin Mackay, Rethink Food
