On 10th July, the sun was shining over North Yorkshire Water Park as over 160 enthusiastic paddlers came together for an unforgettable day of fun, teamwork, and fundraising at Dragon Boat 2.

The event brought together colleagues, friends, and supporters to raise vital funds for the Greggs Foundation and Boparan Charitable Trust—and what a day it was!

The atmosphere was electric as teams took to the water in the iconic race.  With cheers from the banks and fierce competition on the lake, there was a fighting spirit on the day as the ‘friendly’ race quickly turned competitive!

After a series of thrilling heats and nail-biting finals, it was the Contrac Vikings who once again proved themselves the team to beat. Living up to their warrior name, they claimed victory for the second year running—solidifying their status as true masters of the water!

But the real winners of the day were the causes everyone came together to support. Thanks to the incredible generosity and effort of everyone involved—participants, volunteers, and sponsors—we raised an astounding £36,554.12. Every penny will go towards supporting the work of the Greggs Foundation and Boparan Charitable Trust.

A huge thank you goes out to our event sponsors and the amazing volunteers who made the day run so smoothly. Your support was invaluable in making this event a success.

As the boats are packed away and the paddles dried off, one thing is certain: Dragon Boat 3 is definitely on the horizon—and we can only hope teams are planning their training to knock the Contrac Vikings off the top spot!
