Regional Grants
The Greggs Foundation operates a regional grants programme to support charitable organisations through the provision of small grants of up to £2,000. The regional grants programme is administered by committees of volunteers from our shops, bakeries and offices who are based in our regions around England, Scotland and Wales. They use their knowledge of the local area to make small grants to local organisations. Our committees can also provide freshly produced Greggs products for community events and activities. Details of how to apply are included at the bottom of this page.
The regional grants programme can support charitable organisations that are not set up to make a profit. These can include charities, charitable companies, churches and schools. The Greggs Foundation prioritises local organisations that help people in need in their local area. Many charitable causes can be supported through the programme. Most of our grants are to support an identifiable cause such as trips, activities and equipment. However, a full list of those causes that cannot be supported can be found by following the link to excluded items.
The mission of the Greggs Foundation is to:
"Make a difference to people in need in the heart of Greggs' local communities"
All of our applications must be able to prove that they can achieve the above. Additionally the Foundation prioritises the following people:
- People with caring responsibilities
- People with disabilities
- Homeless people
- Older people
Our Regional Grants
Our recent grants have included:
£2,000 to the Sunbeams Music Trust in Cumbria. The charity uses music as therapy for people with disabilities. Sunbeams Trust formed a concert troupe and our grant allowed the troupe to perform at St-Martin-in-the-Fields church in Trafalgar Square.

£520 to Manchester City Missions. The charity supports homeless people in Manchester City Centre through the provision of food and warm clothing. The service operates from an old ambulance and our grant was used to fund the operating costs of that vehicle.

£2,000 to the Grange Day Centre in Newcastle. The grant was used to provide outdoor activity sessions for older people. The activities, including abseiling provided an enormous sense of achievement and well being to older people.
