Greggs Foundation Community Grants Programme Application Form

The aim of this programme is to help build stronger, healthier communities by supporting community organisations who are providing services which address their local needs enabling people to widen their networks, reduce isolation, and build their knowledge, confidence and opportunities.

This programme is open to not-for-profit organisations who are based in one of our geographical focus areas. In this round our focus areas are:-

  • Hartlepool, Co Durham

  • Gateshead, Tyne and Wear

  • Hednesford, Staffordshire

Grants are available of up to £20,000 per year for up to two years.

Grants are to cover your core costs which are your essential running costs, for example rental costs or salaries.

Eligibility check

To be eligible for a Greggs community grant you must be able to answer Yes to all the questions below

You must be a not-for-profit organisation such as a charity or a community interest company to be eligible.

This is total income and includes any unusual one-off payments. We use your most recent accounts published on the Charity Commission or Companies House website at the time of your application to determine your income. Your total income must be between £25,000 and £1,000,000 to be eligible.

Based on your last set of accounts. Includes reserves you have decided to allocate but are free to reallocate and does not include fixed assets such as land and buildings. You must have less than six month’s running cots to be eligible .

Most of your charity’s time and money must be spent on activities in one of these areas to be eligible.

You must be able to show you have been delivering services for people for at least one year and you must currently be delivering these services.

You must have public liability insurance to be eligible to apply for a grant from the Foundation.

You must have a safeguarding policy and procedures in place. We will assess your understanding of this policy as well as the approach to safeguarding across your organisation.

Your charity must have its own bank account to be eligible for our funding and your designated signatories/ payment authorisers must be unrelated.

The accounts must show on the Charity Commission or Companies House website. If you have recently merged, then you will need to have one year of published accounts as a merged organisation.

You must have at least three unrelated trustees/directors on your board. We will consider the relationship, conflicts of interest and the total number of trustees/directors.
